We proudly announce that “Sverker”, the most favorite fans album from the great Corvus Corax’s discography will be released for the first time on vinyl in September 2023.
Corvus Corax uninterrupted presence for four decades has managed to establish, expand and defend an entire musical genre. Talking about medieval, it is impossible not to mention the huge offer of the German half-naked musicians who with their emblem bagpipes stir up their fans. Those who have attended their concerts, have certainly to narrate beautiful memories and look forward to seeing them again. This great live band manages to convey the same festive atmosphere in its albums.
“Sverker” was released in 2011 and contains all quality features that made Corvus Corax the best of their kind. It was loved and embraced by all Corvus Corax fans. The listener is in the pleasant position to enjoy a music feast between drums and bagpipes in an atmosphere full of pompous rhythms & bombastic vocals. A unique endless folklore medieval festival of sounds and images by these masters.
It is our great honor to collaborate with Corvus Corax, a special and completely dedicated to viking/celtic sound band and that world-loved “Sverker” will be released by The Circle Music

“Let us drink, let us drink, Let us drink the whole night. We shall sleep when we are dead, And we won’t put up a fight.Let’s make love, let’s make love, Let’s make love the whole night. We shall sleep when we are dead, And we won’t put up a fight.Let us dance, let us dance, Let us dance the whole night. We shall sleep when we are dead, And we won’t put up a fight.” (The Drinking Loving Dancers) Corvus Corax founder Castus says: “Sverker” marks an important milestone in the history of Corvus Corax. Bringing old Viking and Celtic music back to life was not yet the big thing that it is nowadays. We are happy that with The Circle Music we found a partner that has dedicated itself to producing high quality vinyl records and giving special albums the affectionate outfit they deserve. “Sverker” is by far the most successful album of Corvus Corax worldwide and we are often surprised by people from every corner of the world thanking us for that album. So with these two beautiful vinyl editions i feel deeply honored. They are kind of a little monument to its songs.” Drummer Norri adds: “I grew up with 80ies metal and industrial music, so running to the record store to catch the newest vinyl records was a vital part of my life and made me become a musician at all. When we originally released “Sverker” in 2011, vinyl was no longer in focus of the music industry. It makes me more than proud and I can’t wait to spin that album on my turntables finally!” |
